West Central Technical College Mission

Our Mission is to lead economic and workforce development by offering students aged 16 and above learning opportunities through quality technical education programs and services. These opportunities focus on the development of academic and technical competence; critical thinking skills; social, personal and intellectual values; and an understanding of society. These services of West Central Technical College include adult literacy, continuing education and corporate training as well as technical associate degree, diploma and certificate programs.

Mr. Sewell closely follows the mission of WCTC. The courses offered by Mr. Sewell are:

  • MKT131 - Marketing Administration OBI II (Internship part 2)

Mr. Sewell pledges to his students the following:

  • I will present valid material to students from recognized experts.
  • I will take the expert material and show students how it applies today and to this area.
  • I will keep students up to date with new concepts and new developments.
  • I will keep students informed of their standing in my class.
  • I will provide all students with the resources they need to earn an "A".
  • I will always be fair, truthful, and complete.
  • I will respect differing opinions.
  • I will never waste time.

Mr. Sewell expects the following from all of his students:

  • Students should take my classes because they want to learn. My classes are for serious students only! If your primary reason for being in college is anything besides learning, you should spend your time somewhere else.
  • Students should come to class prepared. This means that students should read the chapter materials before the class on those materials.
  • Students should use clear and concise language. Poor grammar or spelling is difficult to properly understand.
  • Students should express complete thoughts. Sentence fragments and single sentence answers are not appropriate for assignments.
  • Students should turn in their work on time.
  • Students should be having fun while learning.

Getting ready for the first day of class

Chapter 1 will be covered on the first day of class. Students should have read the first chapter by class time. DO NOT WAIT for HOPE money to come in to pay for your books. HOPE money arrives about a month after the quarter begins. You cannot afford to waste this valuable time.

Get yourself a copy of the course syllabus and class policies from Mr. Sewell's faculty web page. Read this information carefully. Ask questions about anything you do not understand.

Tune up your computer. Install all Microsoft Windows updates and Microsoft Office updates. Install a current anti-virus program such as AVG Anti-Virus. Install a current anti-spyware program such as Windows Defender. Scan your computer and remove viruses and spyware. When you are finished, defragment your disk. If you do not own a reliable computer, you should use one of the library computers or check out one of the laptops.
