Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Information

The Beta Theta Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will hold its semi-annual orientation on the following dates:

October 30, 2007 12:45 in the Break Room of the Carrollton Campus
November 1, 2007 12:45 in the Break Room of the Douglas Campus

All applications and fees must be received by the induction deadline, November 30. Candidates should send their completed application and check (payable to West Central Technical College) for $50 to:

The next opportunity to join will occur in April/May 2008. Please do not miss the induction deadline. We will not be able to induct you if you miss the deadline.

After your application is received, you will receive an email from PTK with instructions for signing on to the PTK website. Use that website to order your stole for graduation. Be sure to order your stole well in advance of your graduation.

Membership Requirements

Each candidate for membership must have completed 20 hours of associate degree coursework, with the coursework completed at West Central Technical College, with a Grade Point Average of 3.50 or higher, adhere to the school conduct code and possess recognized qualities of citizenship. A Grade Point Average of 3.50 or higher must be maintained. When a member’s cumulative G.P.A. falls below 3.50, he or she has one semester in which to bring the average to 3.50 or higher. If he or she fails to raise the cumulative G.P.A. to 3.50 after one semester, the member shall have his or her name stricken from the local chapter roll and the Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters shall be notified to strike the name from the international roll as well. Once a student’s name is stricken from the roll, all privileges of membership are revoked.
