Can a student exempt this course?  Students, who would like to take an online class, but have not successfully completed an online course in the past at Columbus Technical College, can now exempt this course. You must make a score of 70% on the entire test to qualify for exemption.

To take the no-charge exemption test for DIS 1505, students should e-mail Mr. Ray Mercer at rmercer@columbustech.edu with DIS 1505 Exemption Request in the subject line of the e-mail message.  He will then provide the student with detailed information regarding the exemption test.

What will be on the exemption test?  The exemption test is meant to assess your abilities to function in an online environment. Reading and following instructions, attention to detail, and basic technology skills are the keys to success. There are four parts to the exemption test. The first part is an assessment called READI (Readiness for Education At a Distance Indicator). Your performance on this assessment is not part of the test grade, but is used to recommend to you areas in which you should seek some help.
